Upcoming events

We have many events taking place throughout the year, organised both by the charity and by members of staff, patients and other groups and individuals. As a result of Covid-19, many of our events are being held “virtually”.

Summer 2021

NHS Big Tea

N&N Hospitals Charity is urging people across Norfolk to join the nation’s biggest tea break throughout the summer from Monday 5th July which is the official day of the NHS Big Tea until Sunday 5th September before schools reopen, and help raise money for the incredible people in our NHS who’ve done so much to help everyone get through the pandemic.

Following a year like no other, N&N Hospitals Charity wants as many people and businesses as possible to get involved in a national outpouring of love and thanks for NHS staff and volunteers on its birthday by hosting or taking part in an NHS Big Tea at any time from Monday 5th July – Sunday 5th September.

Each event can be in person or virtual, with the community, friends, family or at work, and is a chance to reflect and say thank you for everything that NHS staff and volunteers have done and continue to do, by taking part in the nation’s biggest tea break to raise money for N&N Hospitals Charity.

People can host their own event or they can show their support by taking 5 minutes to enjoy a tea break, donating £5 via www.nnuh.org.uk and tagging five friends on social media @NNUHCharity and calling on them to do the same.

Thousands are expected to host events and NHS Charities Together has produced a pack to help those events go with a swing, to take part and get your pack, please visit: www.nnuh.org.uk email: fundraising@nnuh.nhs.uk or tel: 01603 287107for your fundraising enquiries.

Friday April 30 – Monday May 3, 2021

Captain Tom 100

On April 6, 2020, Captain Tom Moore set off from his garden to raise money for our NHS heroes. 100 laps later, he’d raised an incredible £38.9 million for the NHS Covid-19 appeal and won the hearts of a nation.

On Friday April 30, what would have been Captain Tom’s 101st birthday, we will be honouring his legacy and his amazing achievements and we would be delighted for you to join us.

The Captain Tom Foundation is asking people of all ages and abilities to take part in the Captain Tom 100 Challenge between Friday April 30 and Monday May 3.

You can choose any activity that involves the number 100 – from walking 100 metres to baking 100 cakes, reading 100 pages of a book, learn 100 new words of a foreign language – be as creative and inventive as you like.

Among the first to sign up to support the N&N Hospitals Charity is staff member Reece Durrant who has organised to walk 100 laps of the N&N from 9am on May 1.

You can find out more and plan your very own tribute to Captain Tom and support your local hospital here.

N&N Hospitals Charity Cromer Bike Ride 2021

We are delighted to be bringing you the opportunity to cycle through our beautiful county while raising money for our charity.

We have set the date for Sunday, October 3 and we hope to bring you more information, including how to sign up, very soon.

Sunday, August 1

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021

We are delighted to have a team of 10 runners taking part in this year’s London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, August 1.

The runners are all members of staff at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital and will be raising money for the N&N Hospitals Charity, and the area of their choice.

Watch this space for more information.

Summer 2021

RunNorwich 2021

Earlier this year, the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation took the difficult decision to cancel Run Norwich 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know many of our supporters were looking forward to taking part in the race while raising money for the hospital, and the hospital itself had a team of runners who were raising money for the Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital.

We are looking forward to coming together again next summer for this fantastic event and anyone who gets their own place when they are released next year and would like to support us, we would be delighted to hear from you.

In Memory & Never Forgotten Memorial Service

In Memory & Never Forgotten Memorial Service

The first annual N&N Hospitals Charity In Memory & Never Forgotten remembrance service was held in the NNUH Chapel in September behind closed doors due to the current pandemic.

Execs from the Trust were invited to attend the event and say a few words to honour those we have lost.

The service was led by NNUH Lead Chaplain Adrian Woodhouse in the hospital chapel with members of the public invited to watch from home.

N&N Hospitals Charity Head of Fundraising Louise Cook said: “We already hold an annual Remembrance Service for babies and children but this was the first time we have held such a service to include adults.

“This was an all-inclusive event and an opportunity for people to remember their loved ones who have passed away at the hospital, not just in the past year but at any time.”

The service can be viewed here.
