Sunday 17th November 2019 2pm

Premature Baby Walk

We will celebrate World Premature Baby Day by joining together and walking around the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Our walk will finish at the Chapel Garden to ‘light a light’ and to chat while enjoying a cup of tea.

We will meet at 2.00pm in the West Atrium (Level 1) to set off together at 2.15pm (the walk takes approx. 35mins). In case of adverse weather and in consideration of small babies, there will be an alternative internal route.

If you are able to, please bring a cake on the day and remember:

  • Dress warmly
  • No naked flames (torches only)
  • Free parking for those attending (only in hospital car parks not public car park opp. A&E). Please bring your car park ticket with you.

You can support our NICU Fund, part of the hospital charity by donating on the day, setting up an online giving page or donate online: https://www.justgiving.com/campaigns/charity/nnuhnhs/nnnicu

For more information call 01603 287107 or email fundraising@nnuh.nhs.uk

We would be grateful if you could let us know if you are hoping to attend.

Saturday 19th October 2019 8pm-late

Joshua’s Jive

Please show your support to Laura and Mark who are raising money for the Baby Bereavement Appeal, part of the N&N Hospitals Charity.

Sadly, the couple’s little boy Joshua Mark Charles Bartram was born sleeping at 41 weeks one 8th June 2019.

Now the couple are holding an event – Joshua’s Jive – in his memory. It is taking place on Saturday 19th October at Shipdham WI Hall (in High Street, Shipdham, Norfolk) from 8pm until late (doors open at 7.30pm).

There will be live music from Bumpin Inta Lamposts from the 60s, 70s and 80s and a raffle with fantastic prizes. Tickets are £10 payable on the door, and you’re welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles.

The appeal is to help those families who have suffered baby loss and funds have already been raised for a specific bereavement room on the delivery unit, but the appeal will continue to fund items for the room and to support parents who have lost a baby at birth.

The room will provide a comfortable atmosphere where parents can mourn their loss in private and stay with their baby for some time using cuddle cots which cool the baby and give time for other members of the family to meet the baby.

NNUH Coffee Morning

Come along to the main NNUH restaurant and enjoy a coffee and cake, prepared by Master Patissier Mark Mitson from the Assembly House in aid of N&N Hospitals Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Thanks to the Assembly House and SERCO, you can enjoy a fantastic cake and a coffee for £3.00 (£1.50 will be donated to the charities).

We are delighted to welcome Mark Mitson and sample his cakes which come with an extra wow factor. Swiss-trained Mark has an impressive CV, including leading the pastry kitchens at leading Mayfair hotels like Claridge’s and The Connaught, and is now Master Patissier at The Assembly House. The House’s famous afternoon tea was recently crowned the best in Norfolk in 2018/19.

RunNorwich 10k

Thank you to the 50-strong team to took part in RunNorwich 2019 on Sunday, all raising money for the N&N Hospitals Charity.

We hope you have all recovered from what was another very hot but very enjoyable run and the biggest ever with a record 6,198 runners completing the 10k run through the city.

It was the fifth year of the run, organised by the Community Sports Foundation, and was the first in its new July fixture in the calendar. It was the second time the hospital charity had entered a team and we will let you know how much money has been raised as soon as we get the final figures through.

Everything you have raised will make a huge difference to your chosen areas within the hospital.

Thanks again and if you have any photos you would like to share with us, please email them through and we would love to include them on our website.
