We have many events taking place throughout the year, organised both by the charity and by members of staff, patients and other groups and individuals. Here are some of the upcoming events.

Boudicca Quiz & Chips

Do you want to put your knowledge to the test and have a fun night out and help raise money for our Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal?

Why not get a team together and take part in the Thorpe End Quiz Night on Friday 5th April, organised by Norwich Centenary Rotary Club?

If you don’t want to get a team you can always come along and join a table.Tea and coffee available and please feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles.

7th April 2019

West Norwich Lions Swimathon

Take the plunge and join us for this sponsored swim raising funds for NNUH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the UEA Sportspark.

Open to everybody from aged eight upwards with teams of up to six swimmers and a non-swimming captain.

The first team starts swimming at 10am with other teams starting on the hour until 2pm, with up to eight teams swimming each hour.

The first team member swims the 25m of the pool and hands over to each of the other team members and then swims again and so on for 55 minutes.

Half of the money you raise will go to a good cause of your choice with the rest going to NICU.

Charity Ball

A Black Tie Charity Ball is taking place to raise money for N&N Hospitals Charity Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal.

Jonny Littlewood and Lewie Weatherburn, two of the Physios here at  NNUH have organised the event which is taking place on Saturday 27th April at Sprowston Manor from 7pm until later.

Tickets priced £35 include a three-course meal, so why not get together with friends or colleagues for this fun night out raising money for a fantastic cause.

Enjoy a six-mile NWT mapped walk enjoying beautiful countryside and river views around Upton.

Born2Rock 2019

Join us for Born2Rock 2019 – an all-day fundraiser for NNUH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and prematurity awareness.

Featuring Our Time is Now, One Day Rocket, Back Down or Die and many more, the event promises to be a day to remember.

Fancy dress, optional, with prizes for the best adult and children’s costumes. Children’s entertainer, bouncy castle, face painting, Princesses and Star Wars characters, raffle, tombola, ice cream van, food, music and much more.

Tickets are £3.50 on the door and, under 5s are free.

Bike Ride 2019

This year we are taking a break from our own Bike Ride but we would urge all our keen cyclists (staff and members of the public) to sign up with the Norwich 25/50/100 event.

We do not get any monies from the entrance fee but you can set up an online fundraising page and raise money for your chosen department of the hospital – whether its our Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal, Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital, Cromer Hospital or a ward of area at the N&NH.

Be a Charity Abseil Superhero

Fundraisers with a head for heights can take part in a unique challenge to raise money for the N&N Hospitals Charity’s Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal.

The challenge is to abseil down one of Norwich’s most iconic buildings, The Forum, on Saturday, 22nd June 2019.

Participants will be given an hour of training before they head down the Forum walls. We will be asking participants to raise £135 (£35 is registration fee and raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship). Book now to avoid disappointment and not to miss this fantastic opportunity.

Full training will be provided prior to your descent by Dave Talbot Ltd. They will also provide you with all the necessary safety equipment – helmet, harness and gloves.

This will be an adrenaline-filled experience, but don’t worry you don’t need to have any previous experience as our trained abseil team will take you through everything you need to know.

RunNorwich 10k

Are you considering taking part in RunNorwich 10k race this summer?

Would you like to raise money for the N&N Hospitals Charity, supporting a particular ward or department of the hospital or our new Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal.

Why not combine the two and take part in this year’s event on Sunday 21st July – the race is now in its fifth year and we expect it to sell out quickly.

If you run for us and agree to raise a minimum of £100 for our charity, you will receive your place free.

Norwich Crafts in the Garden

There will be a wonderful mix of more than 100 high-quality art, craft and gift exhibitors in Chapelfield Gardens from 10am-4pm.

Enjoy unique gifts that you won’t find on the high street and something to suit every pocket, it will really be a Saturday not to be missed!

This huge event promises to be a wonderful day out for the whole family in the beautiful and historic Chapelfield Gardens whilst raising essential funds for N&N Hospitals Charity Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal which aims to create a dedicated breast cancer unit at the hospital.

Soak up the atmosphere with children’s entertainment, music on the bandstand and plenty of food stalls.

Alongside traditional rural crafts we search out only the best artisan makers, artists and crafters to make this event something you will not want to miss. It’s free entry with numerous car parks nearby and the bus station just a few minutes’ walk away.

Christmas Fayre

Get into the Christmas spirit early, and even pick up some gifts, at this year’s Christmas Fayre held in the east atrium at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The event starts at 4pm until 8pm with the alpacas making an appearance outdoors and Father Christmas will be in his grotto giving gifts to children.

Art boost for Breast Cancer Appeal

Following the launch of the N&N Hospitals Charity new Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal in October, local artist Karen Johnson Davies has been inspired to donate to the fund, the proceeds from the sale of her paintings at the Art Fair East.

The Art Fair East 2018 will have hundreds of works by international and regional artists on show and sale at St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich.

Karen’s current collection is inspired and dedicated to the Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).

Karen said: “I’m delighted to support the Boudicca Appeal. I have been involved in Health and Social Care throughout my working life and I, like many others, have a personal connection to the campaign and hope that my paintings express a sense of optimism, fragility and strength.

“The paintings on show at the launch of the appeal were a sample of my current collection which is being exhibited at Art Fair East  and all proceeds of the works will be donated to Boudicca.”

Louise Cook, Head of Fundraising, said: “We hope people will be inspired, like Karen, to use their talents to fund raise and help us reach our target sooner. ‘’

Charity Christmas Tree Festival

The N&N Hospital Charity will be shining bright this Festive season as Christmas trees, decorated by local businesses, will transform St Peter Mancroft Church in Norwich into a glittering spectacle.

For the first time, the N&N Hospitals Charity will have its very own tree, kindly sponsored by The Forum Trust, which will represent our Boudicca Breast Cancer Appeal which was launched at the end of October.

The appeal aims to raise £800,000 to open a larger breast cancer unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital which will mean patients will receive same-day diagnostic tests and imaging assessment, eliminating the wait currently facing some patients.

The Charity Christmas Tree Festival will be officially opened by the Lord Mayor in the church on Wednesday, November 28th and will be open to the public from Thursday, November 29th until Monday, December 3rd.

18th November 2018

NICU Baby Walk

Join us for this year’s charity walk in aid of the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) fund, part of the NNUH charity, and Bliss, the national charity for premature babies.

The event is taking place on Sunday, November 18 from 2pm until 4pm when parents and staff from the NNUH and NICU will come together to mark World Prematurity Day and raise awareness of premature birth and the devastating impact it can have on families.

The circular walk starts inside the hospital’s West Atrium Reception Level 1, ending at the chapel with a short ceremony in the chapel garden where tea lights will be lit to celebrate the hope and strength of premature babies and their families.

NNUH Bike Ride

This year’s NNUH Sportive is taking place on Sunday, July 15th  with the opportunity to cycle 100, 60 or 30-mile routes, all of which follow sections of the Tour of Britain and the Women’s Tour, and all start and finish at the hospital on Colney Lane.

The event takes participants through the quiet roads in South Norfolk and North Suffolk, which provide scenic beauty along the way and routes suitable for both experienced and novice cyclists.

NNUH Summer Fete and Dog Show

Each year, NNUH hosts a summer fete, often incorporating an Open Day when departments offer a chance to look behind the scenes.

This year, however, the summer fete teamed up with some canine groups from across Norfolk to present our very own fun dog show and woodland walk, with all proceeds going to the hospital charity.
